At the beginning of 2025, BlueWinston launched the innovative Microsoft Ads for Free program, allowing e-shops to leverage the full power of Microsoft Ads without any initial costs. The program combines automated product campaigns, advanced optimization and performance tracking tools, and up to €600 in advertising credit from Microsoft.

Our goal was to demonstrate that Microsoft Ads is a fully-fledged and effective complement to traditional channels like Google Ads – often with one-third of the cost per click and high return on ad spend (ROAS).

The program rolled out in three phases:


Q1 2025: Client onboarding, account verification, and UET tracking implementation
Q2 2025: Launch of the first campaigns and optimization processes via BlueWinston tools
Q3 2025: Full campaign operation and evaluation of the first measurable results

Results after Q3 2025

After several months of active campaigns, we can confirm that the program delivers measurable and tangible results.

Currently, 27 clients are participating in the program, for whom we created 35 separate Microsoft Ads accounts, as some clients operate multiple domains or language versions.

We managed 28 Performance Max campaigns within the program, ensuring ads appeared across all placements and delivered optimal conversions. During the launch of these campaigns, we also implemented 36 analytics setups, allowing us to track performance, monitor conversions, and segment audiences accurately from day one.

Since campaign launch, clients have recorded 31,368 clicks and nearly 5 million (4,942,930) impressions, clearly demonstrating growing user interest and stable brand presence on Microsoft Ads. In terms of conversions, 177 were recorded, confirming that the ads effectively motivated users to purchase or take other desired actions.

Performance by segment

When evaluating campaign performance, we examined individual product segments and found the best results in Nutrition, Beauty & Personal Care, and Entertainment.

Nutrition: We observed stable and effective returns on investment. Clients in this category achieved an average ROAS of 255%, meaning campaigns generated consistent and predictable profits. This shows that even automated campaigns can effectively target customers interested in dietary supplements and food products.

Beauty & Personal Care: This segment showed very consistent performance. The average ROAS is stable, with minimal fluctuations (standard deviation ~0.29), indicating that ads regularly deliver results and campaign investments are predictable. Clients in this vertical can expect the same ad efficiency across different product lines and markets.

Entertainment: The most dramatic growth was in this segment. ROAS increased more than 52-fold compared to the initial level, representing a significant improvement in campaign efficiency. This demonstrates that properly configured campaigns can quickly boost return on investment, even in segments that initially had low conversion rates. It also confirms that Microsoft Advertising has a well-defined and active audience in this segment, which responds very positively to ads.

After three quarters, it is clear that the Microsoft Ads for Free program can deliver visible and measurable impact across different e-commerce segments. E-shops gain the opportunity to expand their campaigns into a new channel without risk, with full support from BlueWinstons automated tools.

Results clearly show that automation, AI tools, and high-quality analytics can deliver stable ROAS, increased conversions, and efficient campaign reach. In the next phase, we plan to expand the number of clients, test new verticals, and continue optimizing bidding strategies to achieve even higher performance.
